PINE JOG SUMMER DAY CAMP/ 2010
SESSION I: June 7 – June 25
GREEN SAVERS
- Session will focus on ways to save resources
and “green” children’s daily practices.
Week 1

THE 3 R’s FOR KIDS

THE POWER OF CHILDREN
Campers have fun by going green through the 3 R’s: Reduce – Reuse – Recycle through hands–on environmental creative activities
Campers will explore watery fun environments! Children will learn about water resources, different ways to conserve water, and water safety.
Children will learn that energy makes everything go, through fun interactive activities, take-home projects, games, and crafts. They will become excited with the power they have to make big changes.
SESSION II: June 28 – July 16
FLORIDA’S FABULOUS ANIMALS
- Campers will become “experts” in our local wildlife: from a bug’s life to ocean creatures.

TINY BUT MIGHTY!
Children will experience a variety of activities focusing on getting to know some of the animals that live at Pine Jog as well as their special adaptations.
Campers will enjoy a mixture of fun outdoors-activities all focused on life in our oceans!
Campers will explore the attractive world of insects and the important roles these creatures play in our lives!

CELEBRATING NATURE!
- Celebrating Nature will focus on the appreciation for diversity and building community.

GREEN WRAP UP
Campers learn about how Native Americans used the environment to survive by depending upon the plants and animals. Children will also explore skills for camping in the great outdoors!
Campers will celebrate diversity as the spice of life through songs, dance, food, and other cultural activities.
A week of fun review of all the big ideas learned throughout the summer camp experience!
